| Courses |
Brief Descriptions |
| Bangpakong Riverside Country Club |
Close to the river, the gently rolling 18-hole par 72
course by fine Thai Designer Chird Boonyarattanavej has wide fair ways, large greens and
not too many hazards. The big open clubhouse is kept cool by constant breezes. |
| BangPra International Golf Club |
This attractive 18 hole par 72 course controlled by
the Tourism Authority of Thailand, meanders through picturesque jungle-clad hills. The
front nine was completely rebuilt a few years ago, creating a spectacular series of holes
with many lovely old trees, and lots of water carries. The back nine has a little less
water, but has come challenging dogleg holes up and down hill. |
| Eastern Star Country Club |
On this flattish piece of land, surrounded by low
hills, it often has cooling breezes has been designed by Rober Trent Jones Jr. It is
18-hole par 72 coastal course. The magnificent clubhouse is air-conditioned throughout,
and has a swimming pool. |
| Khao Kheow Country Club |
This golf course is surrounded by low hills, the long
18 hole par 72 course. It is windy quite often, and hilly enough to tire out all but the
fittest. Designed by one of the cleverest designers of courses for all classes of golfer,
Pete Dye. |
| Laem
Chabang International Country Club |
In spectacular rolling hills with craggy peaks, the 27
hole course was designed by Jack Nicklaus, who has made brilliant use of an awkward-shaped
valley intersected by a creek. Some older golfers and novices find it is simply too much
for them, but good golfers love it. |
| Noble Place Country Club |
Designed by golf legend, Peter Thompson and leading
golf course architect, Michael Wolveridge, it is a true British "links style"
golf course. The distinctive characteristics of this British layout include bumpy -
rolling terrain, pot bunkers, native grass, closely mowed aread around the greens and wind
from every angle and direction. |
| Natural Park
Hill Golf Course |
One of the Ronald Fream's excellent courses, he
preserved the old mangoes and coconut palms to create a pleasing course on
slightly-sloping terrain with a backdrop of hills. There is a pleasant clubhouse, but the
swimming pool and most of the other sporting facilities are at neighbouring Natural Park
Resort, where most of the members have their condos. |
| Natural Park
Resort and Country Club |
The large clubhouse is on a cound overlooking a plain
on which is built an immaculately manicured 17 hold parke-type course, richly decorated
with flowering shrubs. It is fairly open and not too difficult. An island par 3 is one of
several original holes. There is a large clubhouse, with a full range of sports facilities
and some big new condominiums nearby. |
| Plutaluang Navy
Golf Course |
There are now two full 18-hole courses, but the old
one has the best views, as it carves its natural way through the hills and around a big
lake. Both are good exercise and fairly tough. The clubhouse service is friendly, with
inexpensive alcoholic beverages. |
| Phoenix Golf
& Country Club |
Phoenix Golf & Country Club's 27-hole golf course
was created by Dennis Griffith, an international- renowned golf course architect. Each of
the ingeniously-designed greens provides a challenging yet enjoyable game on your weekend
round in three spectacular setting: |
| Rayong Green
Valley Country Club |
Built around a creek beside a rocky mountain, this
course is a real pelasure to play. Bunker are used very intelligently, inviting the good
golfer to attempt the drive over them, while the less confident have plenty of room to lay
up. There is a small, comfortable temporary clubhouse, pending the building of a larger
one. |
| Siam
Country Club |
First of the Pattaya courses, set in lovely country in
the low hills behing Pattaya. The 18-hole par 72 course has some superb holes particularly
the unique finishing four. The basic open clubhouse has pleasant views, Great value, but
the course is sometimes crowded at weekends. |
| Sriracha International Golf Club |
Gary Player's contribution to Thai golf is an 18-hole
par 72 course in a lovely setting, over looked by a sizeable mountain. It is in good
condition, and plays well for average golfers, but some of the better players feel it is
not challenging enough for them. The enormous clubhouse has an Olympic-size swimming pool,
and some accomodation in neighbouring condomin |
